January 2025 Update - Round 2 Outreach Complete

In the fall of 2024, we shared a preliminary park concept with the community and presented it to the Parks and Recreation Commission for review and feedback. A Cultural Report was also circulated throughout the local Indigenous community to provide detailed information about specific cultural features of the proposed park design. The next step involves finalizing the park design and preparing a planning document that includes cost estimates and funding strategies. The final plan will be presented at Parks and Recreation Commission and Town Council meetings this spring.

September 2024 Update - Draft Concept Plan Review

August 2024 Update - Round 1 Outreach complete

After analyzing the results of the initial community outreach, our team is currently working on preliminary design concepts that will be presented to the community for further input this fall. Be sure to check the ‘Upcoming Activities’ List below for updates on future opportunities to participate in this exciting project!

Be a part of the process and share your ideas with us!

A successful park plan is made possible through active community participation. Outreach activities are designed to give you — the community — a forum to share your visions and priorities for Pleasant Oak Park (renamed David Smith Memorial Park). Those ideas guide the project process and become the basis for the proposed design. Community outreach and public engagement are key to ensuring that the final plan accurately and holistically represents the Town of Windsor and its diverse residents.

Beginning in May 2024, we’ll be hosting in-person and virtual outreach activities to spread awareness about the project and give community voices a chance to be heard. With pop-up events, workshops, public meetings, and more, our project team will collaborate with the community at each step of the planning process and collect valuable feedback along the way.
